Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Released

It’s been 3,136 days since EA Partners and 38 Studios released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, developed by Big Huge Games. In that time, there has been a full console generation, two The Last of Us installments (and, like, 20 Assassin’s Creed games), and a pandemic that has scattered developers and players across the globe. I didn’t think I’d ever see Kingdoms of Amalur in the news again.

Today marks the release of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a remaster of the original game along with its original expansions.

It’s bittersweet to witness the game’s rebirth, especially at such a peculiar time. Of course, most of us could use an action RPG with hordes of sexy elves and plenty of heart in our lives right now. Escape can be a balm. If nothing else, I’m pleased to know that a new generation of heroes and idealists has the chance to discover this colorful adventure in a world of high fantasy.

Maybe, just maybe, it’ll change some fates for the better.
