Nearly 10 years since its launch, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be receiving a new DLC expansion. Yes, you heard that right. Fatesworn, the newest (and possibly largest) piece of additional content for the sleeper 2012 action RPG will be released on December 14, 2021.
I’m definitely a New Year’s guy, not the ball-dropping and resolutions variety, but a person who gets excited about the grand reset that comes on January 1 and continues through the winter and spring of a new year. I like fresh starts. I like emerging from my burrow to see the sun. That’s what 2021 has started to feel like, at least in March, as we dare speak of “normalcy” or whatever brand of it we’re hoping to get next.
It’s been 3,136 days since EA Partners and 38 Studios released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, developed by Big Huge Games. In that time, there has been a full console generation, two The Last of Us installments (and, like, 20 Assassin’s Creed games), and a pandemic that has scattered developers and players across the globe. I didn’t think I’d ever see Kingdoms of Amalur in the news again.
