New Adventures

I’m definitely a New Year’s guy, not the ball-dropping and resolutions variety, but a person who gets excited about the grand reset that comes on January 1 and continues through the winter and spring of a new year. I like fresh starts. I like emerging from my burrow to see the sun. That’s what 2021 has started to feel like, at least in March, as we dare speak of “normalcy” or whatever brand of it we’re hoping to get next.

The biggest news I’ve been wanting to share in this new year is my ongoing relationship with Deck Nine Games, the incredible developers of popular games in the Life is Strange series. I’ve been working with Deck Nine for more than a year, and I’ve been having a blast. So much talent. So much passion for their stories and their craft.

So, I’m pleased to share the reveal of Deck Nine’s latest project: Life is Strange: True Colors, a beautiful new installment in the popular franchise that comes out in September. I didn’t work on the game but it’s been a part of my life with Deck Nine since I began, and I’ve enjoyed watching the project grow and develop. Huge congratulations to everyone on the Deck Nine teams, and to all those at Square Enix who support them! Check out the trailer below, and preorder the game on the website.

In other news, Kingdoms of Amalur: ReReckoning was released on the Nintendo Switch on March 16th, which is something I can’t believe I’m saying. This game is coming up on a 10th anniversary, and the fact that it’s on all current platforms and continuing to get new content boggles the mind. But it’s a fun world with great combat and plenty of room to grow. If nothing else, these remasters and expansions will help to bridge a gap between the original game and potential next-gen sequels.

Who knows? With this game, weirder things have happened.
