Return to the Faelands!

Nearly 10 years since its launch, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be receiving a new DLC expansion. Yes, you heard that right. Fatesworn, the newest (and possibly largest) piece of additional content for the sleeper 2012 action RPG will be released on December 14, 2021.

I’ve written about my affection for Amalur many times. It’s a classic western high fantasy setting with cozy familiarity and new discoveries in equal measure. Fatesworn walks that same line, with returning characters, familiar gameplay, and quest lines that speak to the aftermath of the original storylines. However, fresh elements emerge at every turn. Developer Kaiko and publisher THQ Nordic have revived the game with new ideas and an eye towards longevity.

So, whether you’re a returning player who’s been waiting for the expansion since its announcement, or you’re a new player who wants to get lost in a vast, colorful world, check out Fatesworn this December 14th. Welcome back to the Faelands and the treacherous mountains of Mithros.
