Updated: Happy Birthday, Old World!

Today’s a big day!

It’s the full release of Mohawk Games’ epic new strategy game, Old World, an Orders-driven journey through a history of your own creation. Available on the Epic Games Store, Old World allows players to build a dynasty defined by the ambitions and personalities of the rulers, their families, and the parasitic cronies that encircle the throne. It’s a ton of fun and full of the next-turn re playability that drives the very best 4x games.

I’m extremely proud to be part of the Mohawk Games development team and to have played a part in bringing this unique version of history to life. I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to the programmers, designers, artists, and writers who spent the last several years crafting a truly special game. You will always have my admiration and respect, and I feel fortunate to be counted among you. :)

Now go play Old World! I’ll see you on the battlefield… err, in the embassy. Whatever your style.

UPDATED 7/5/21: PC Gamer Review: While it’s not a huge surprise, I’m really happy to see that PC Gamer awarded Old World with a deserving 87/100, which is excellent, especially considering all that Mohawk Games plans to do with the title in the coming months and years.

Another congrats, Old World. Wishing you all the best. ;)

New Adventures

New Adventures

I’m definitely a New Year’s guy, not the ball-dropping and resolutions variety, but a person who gets excited about the grand reset that comes on January 1 and continues through the winter and spring of a new year. I like fresh starts. I like emerging from my burrow to see the sun. That’s what 2021 has started to feel like, at least in March, as we dare speak of “normalcy” or whatever brand of it we’re hoping to get next.

Busy Season and a Visit with BHG

Busy Season and a Visit with BHG

It’s been an incredibly busy fall and winter, and I’m excited about ending 2020 with some downtime in preparation for the hopeful chaos of 2021. Plenty of exciting updates are being prepped for the new year. I’ll share information as it becomes available, but in the meantime we’ll have to settle for working our way slowly through the backlog of amazing 2020 releases. Sigh. Poor us.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Released

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Released

It’s been 3,136 days since EA Partners and 38 Studios released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, developed by Big Huge Games. In that time, there has been a full console generation, two The Last of Us installments (and, like, 20 Assassin’s Creed games), and a pandemic that has scattered developers and players across the globe. I didn’t think I’d ever see Kingdoms of Amalur in the news again.
